Haas will be happy if Berman moves to Ferrari.
Oliver Berman, a graduate of the Ferrari Racing Academy, is racing for Haas on loan. The Scuderia can recall the British driver at any moment, and Haas team principal Ayo Komatsu sees no issue with this as long as Berman secures a place as a Ferrari race driver immediately after Haas.
Ayo Komatsu: "He has enormous potential, and there's no point in worrying about Ferrari taking him. I believe we should only be concerned with what is within our control. Ferrari has invested in Berman for many years, and we have him for last year and this year.
If we work well with him, and Oliver performs in a way that makes Ferrari want him next year, we will be happy about that, as it would mean we did our job well. So we should focus on that."
When asked if there is a timeline for negotiations with Ferrari regarding Berman's future, Komatsu replied: "Yes, but it's just a discussion between us and Ferrari. We are focused on getting the most out of the car and Oliver. Even if it means we lose him next year, I hope not. In any case, it's beyond our control."
