GianPiero Lambiase is set to join the McLaren Formula 1 Team as Chief Racing Officer.
These responsibilities are presently handled by Andrea Stella.
McLaren Racing is excited to declare that GianPiero Lambiase will join the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team as Chief Racing Officer, reporting directly to Team Principal Andrea Stella. The Chief Racing Officer position already exists within the team's framework, overseeing the race team. Currently, these responsibilities are being fulfilled by Andrea Stella alongside his role as Team Principal.
Lambiase is the latest addition aimed at enhancing and supporting the talent pool at McLaren Mastercard, while also reaffirming the team's long-term dedication to solidifying its status as a Championship-winning entity.
The team's capacity to attract and secure top talent, such as Lambiase, and previously Rob Marshall and Will Courtenay, as well as the retention and advancement of highly skilled individuals already within the organization, reflects the strategic vision and culture ingrained within the McLaren Mastercard F1 Team under the leadership of Zak Brown and Andrea Stella, both of whom are on long-term contracts.
The team is eager to welcome GianPiero Lambiase upon the conclusion of his current contract, which is set to end no later than 2028. Oracle Red Bull Racing has also confirmed that GianPiero Lambiase will depart from the Team in 2028 when his present contract lapses. “GP” is a valued team member who has been with them since 2015. Until his anticipated exit, "GP" will continue in his roles as Head of Racing and Race Engineer for Max Verstappen. The Team and he are fully dedicated to achieving further success together based on their strong track record.
