"My daughter possesses the determination and skill to succeed."

Ella Hakkinen, the daughter of two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen, is set to make her debut in single-seater racing within the Central European Formula 4 series this season. The 15-year-old, who is already a part of McLaren’s junior program, will compete for Jenzer Motorsport, with her first race scheduled at the Red Bull Ring this weekend. Her renowned father is confident in her potential to reach the highest levels of the sport.

"My daughter possesses the determination and skill to reach the pinnacle of racing," Mika Hakkinen, 57, shared with Ilta-Sanomat newspaper. "Ella is a highly talented racing driver. I say this not only as her father but also from my experience as a former top driver. Her motivation is remarkable; she is incredibly eager to become a racing driver. She has evolved into a true daredevil.

"In a few years, we will witness a female driver in Formula 1 again, whether it be Ella or someone else. The new generation of Formula 1 fans consists of 40 percent females, and the sport should embody that diversity."
