Button will return to the wheel of the championship car Brawn.
Jenson Button will once again return to the wheel of his Brawn BGP 001 car, with which he won the World Championship in 2009. This will happen next weekend at the track in Goodwood, England, during the traditional gathering of members of the Goodwood Racing Club (GRRC).
"Next weekend, I will participate in the GRRC members' meeting for the first time, and it will be amazing, as I will be doing some demonstration laps in the Brawn car that helped me become World Champion!" Jenson writes on his social media pages. "Thank you, Ross Brawn! Additionally, there will be many other cool cars there, including my Jaguar E-Type.
Also, together with two other participants of the meeting, I will be driving a Chevrolet Camaro and another Jaguar E-Type sports car built in the early 60s, and that’s great!"
At the time, only three Brawn BGP 001 chassis were built, and Button raced the car with factory number 02 in 2009, which now belongs to Ross Brawn. Jenson conducted demonstration laps in it at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood, as well as at the Silverstone track.
In Button's personal garage, there was another BGP 001 with chassis number 01, which was driven by Rubens Barrichello, his teammate, in 2009, but last year Jenson put that car up for auction in Miami, and it was purchased by a collector.
The third such car is in the Silverstone racetrack museum – Barrichello drove it to win the Italian Grand Prix and raced the rest of the 2009 season in it.
