Daniil Kvyat presented a helmet for the Super GT series.

This weekend, Daniil Kvyat will debut in the Japanese Super GT series in the GT300 category, and he will be driving the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 sports car for the JLOC team, which also includes five local drivers.

In anticipation of this event, he presented his new helmet, which features traditional Japanese motifs. Moreover, this design was chosen through a competition, and today Daniil announced the results.

"I am happy to finally present the design of the helmet that I will be using in Japan in the Super GT series, which won this competition," Kvyat said on his social media pages. "Congratulations to the winner! Lukas Kersten, when submitting his project for the competition, wrote that it is based on Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold.

We asked Lukas what inspired him to develop such a design, and he replied: "The main idea was to move away from conventional templates and create something that would relate to art. I mainly focused on traditional Japanese culture, art, and nature. It is very nice that I was chosen as the winner."

The driver thanked everyone who participated in the competition, as well as the Italian company Daniel Design, which brought Lukas Kersten's vision to life based on his sketches.

The Super GT season consists of eight rounds, with the first taking place on April 11-12 at the Okayama International Circuit. Seven of these rounds will be held on Japanese tracks, while the third round will take place at the Malaysian Sepang Circuit, which will be in June.
