Formula 1 has denied rumors of a quick return to India.
In winter, we wrote about the Indian government's desire to return the national stage at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) to the Formula 1 calendar, but at that time no specific deadlines were mentioned. Recently, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, Anurag Thakur, unexpectedly announced that the race will take place in 2027. The management of Formula 1 confirmed a strong interest in holding the Indian stage, but rumors were quickly denied – the calendar for 2027 is almost finalized, and it does not include the Indian Grand Prix. Obviously, the minister presented wishes as reality. The Indian Grand Prix was held from 2011 to 2013, but then the signed five-year contract was prematurely terminated due to tax issues.
