Mika Hakkinen is pleased with his daughter's debut.

We wrote about the debut of 15-year-old Ella, the daughter of two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen, in Formula 4 this past weekend. The transition to open-wheel racing followed a successful karting career, where Ella won and stood on the podium across Europe, becoming the youngest participant in the McLaren youth program. At the event in Spielberg, Ella raced three times with Jenzer Motorsport, finishing 11th, 9th, and 15th. Her father is pleased with her debut. Mika Hakkinen: "Ella is truly talented. I say this not just as a father, but from what I see on the track as an experienced driver. I am impressed by her mental attitude; she works hard on herself, fears nothing, and dreams of becoming a professional driver. I am sure that in a few years we will see a woman in the role of a Formula 1 driver, whether it is Ella or someone else. Women make up 40% of the new generation of Formula 1 fans, and the sport must respond to that."
