Steiner: Sainz must be ready for a team change.
Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner believes that Carlos Sainz should consider leaving Williams and be ready to move to one of the top Formula 1 teams if a vacancy arises.
Guenther Steiner: "Carlos had a good season last year and stood on the podium several times driving for Williams, which is already an achievement in itself. But it's clear he didn't like having to leave Ferrari, where he performed excellently and won races. If a spot opens up in one of the top teams, he needs to be ready to take it.
He can certainly improve a bit more to try to change the situation at Williams, but he can't control it. Williams is a big team, and they are trying their best, but the results this year, after everything they achieved last season, must be a serious disappointment for Carlos.
It's not easy for a driver to influence the team, and he shouldn't have to. That's James Vowles' job. Carlos, for his part, needs to be ready to take a place in a top team if the opportunity arises."
