You may not be familiar with EVolution Autosports. Located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, this modest establishment features three service bays, a lot for 30 cars, and a small brick office. While it might not look remarkable from the outside, it’s actually the largest dedicated Fisker dealer and service center in the nation—and notably the only one not situated under Pacific coast palm trees.

Joe Ferrante is behind this venture; he began Fisker of Cherry Hill just across the Delaware River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in 2014. At that time, Fisker aspired to rival Tesla. The outlook was promising, but things took a downturn, as the saying goes. Nevertheless, Fisker managed to deliver thousands of vehicles in the meantime. When the company ceased operations and could no longer provide support and service, customers turned to the aftermarket for assistance, and Ferrante stepped up.

If you had asked Ferrante in 2014 where he envisioned himself a decade later, he likely wouldn't have imagined becoming the focal point of a vital Fisker aftermarket service network, but here he stands.

Currently, Ferrante possesses all of Fisker's remaining factory parts, which he keeps in a separate 4,000-square-foot warehouse. EVolution Autosports also holds the patent for its “bulletproofing” process, which upgrades factory-spec Fiskers to enhance their reliability.

You might recall when Rich Rebuilds purchased a non-functioning Fisker Ocean and restored it for $100; EVolution Autosports is actively involved in supporting that initiative.

“These are rare and distinctive vehicles,” Ferrante stated in his Facebook announcement about the service. “Many of you dealers may mock this ‘small niche’ low-volume venture. But I’ve turned it into something significant by persevering and outlasting the competition.”

That’s no overstatement. Try searching “Fisker service center near me.” It’s dismal, right? This scarcity is part of why Ferrante was initially reluctant to inform the community of his plans to move on.

“I’d prefer not to cause unnecessary alarm to the Fisker community to avoid any concern,” Ferrante told me when I first reached out through Facebook.

He even contemplated making the announcement anonymously, but being the only prominent name in the area made it nearly impossible to remain incognito. “It would be quite simple to uncover who I am,” he noted.

Ferrante emphasized the benefits of the business's modest physical footprint.

“It doesn’t have to stay on this property and could integrate seamlessly into another existing business,” he explained. “Somewhere on the East Coast, ideally.”

However, the main message Ferrante wishes to convey to Fisker owners is reassurance. There’s no need for alarm; he’s not departing just yet. He’ll continue to lead the business until he finds a buyer he trusts.

“My reason for selling is long-term, not urgent,” he responded to a Facebook comment. “If it takes 5-10 years to pass it to the right person, that’s fine. I care about these owners; they feel like family to me, and I believe it’s crucial for this to be entrusted to the right hands.”

This desire for reassurance ultimately motivated him to make his announcement public.

“I would love to elevate it further,” Ferrante added, “but for personal reasons, I must pass it along so it can continue for the 1,000+ loyal customers and many more supporters worldwide.”

Together with its community of inventive and hard-working owners, companies like EVolution Autosports are what will prevent Fisker from becoming merely an odd footnote in the industry's shift towards electrification. Are you the right person to step up and guide the future?
