Jean Alesi crashed a unique Ferrari 312/69 in Monaco.
This weekend, the traditional Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is taking place in Monte Carlo, featuring many stars of Formula 1 from past years. Among them is Jean Alesi, who raced for Ferrari from 1991 to 1995, and today he once again got behind the wheel of the red car – it was a Ferrari 312/69, which Chris Amon drove in 1969. However, something went wrong, and the 61-year-old Frenchman seriously crashed the car, losing control of it as he exited the tunnel before the chicane. Of course, such cars are usually kept in private collections, and the owner of this particular model will have to spend a considerable amount of money on repairs, which are typically carried out by restoration experts in historical engineering directly in Maranello. However, they are not lacking in experience; it is enough to remember that four years ago at the historic Grand Prix de Monaco, Charles Leclerc crashed – back then, the brakes failed on the Ferrari 312 B3, which Niki Lauda raced in 1974.
