Herta: I do everything to become a Formula 1 driver.
Last year, Colton Herta retired from IndyCar to try to break into Formula 1. In 2026, the American driver is competing in Formula 2 and will participate in his first practice session behind the wheel of the Cadillac MAC-26 in Barcelona. Colton hopes that all this experience will help him achieve his goal.
Colton Herta: "When I moved to Europe and started competing in Formula 2, I set myself the goal of reaching Formula 1, ideally with Cadillac. It's great that everything is starting to come together, and my introduction to the car in Barcelona will be something special.
The ultimate goal is to become a main driver in Formula 1. But for now, I need to learn to work with the team, observe their actions throughout the weekend, and help them achieve their goals.
Right now, I'm only thinking about preparing for the Formula 2 race in Miami. Once that’s over, I will prepare for the next race in Montreal. And so on. This approach helps me focus on what's important and not think too much about the future.
In any case, everything I do, I do to become a Formula 1 driver."
