Franco Colapinto arrived home at the end of the week, where the Argentine Alpine driver had a very busy schedule awaiting him – meetings with sponsors, fans, of course, with the local press, and many other engagements.

And today in his hometown of Buenos Aires, he is conducting demonstration laps in a rather old Formula 1 car – the 2012 Lotus E20, but painted in the current colors of the Renault factory team. Franco has already been adjusting to the car since the morning, trying to get comfortable in the cockpit. Although the task ahead of him is immeasurably simpler than participating in a race, it is still quite a responsible one.

Moreover, the day before, Franco tried out another, perhaps even more interesting car on the go – the Mercedes W196 R Streamliner, which his legendary compatriot, Juan Manuel Fangio, raced in 1954-1955 and won two championship titles. However, this is not the original racing car from those years, but a replica, and Colapinto will also be piloting this car today.

Here’s what Oscar Fangio, the 88-year-old son of the five-time world champion, said about this: “Today I feel immense joy, as I witnessed this magnificent spectacle. I have never seen anything like it, even during my father's glory days when he was in the spotlight. I want to greet Franco and wish him good luck!”
