Charles Leclerc: I drove a lap at the limit of my abilities.
Charles Leclerc qualified third in Miami, which is his best result of the season. After the session, the Ferrari driver said it was difficult to complete an optimal lap because the wind direction changed with each outing on the track. Lewis Hamilton showed the sixth fastest time and stated that the car was in its best shape of the entire weekend during qualifying. Charles Leclerc (3rd): "I drove a lap at the limit of my abilities, but we are just not fast enough today. However, the team brought significant updates for this event that helped us. Nevertheless, there are still areas where we need to improve. The qualifying session was challenging, and the wind direction changed with each attempt. As a result, the car's behavior was unstable, especially in turns 11 and 12 – the car's behavior varied greatly across different laps, making it difficult to piece together a fast lap. Nevertheless, third place is a good starting position, and I look forward to the race. According to the forecast, we are in for a race on a wet track. We just need to find out how strong the rain will be." Lewis Hamilton (6th): "In qualifying, the car handled much better, and we didn't have any issues with the power unit. In fact, this was our best session of the weekend. We changed a lot in the car, and now I am much more satisfied with its behavior. I wish we had started the weekend with a balance like this. The second part of qualifying was strong, but in the final I had trouble maximizing the car's potential. I don't know if I was driving with more confidence, but the team did a great job preparing the updates, and I am very grateful to them all. Clearly, we needed this, but other teams went in different directions with their car developments, and we need to study that. But right now, we are working at full capacity, and I hope to extract more from the car we have at our disposal. We are still a bit lacking in straight-line speed, but we have noticeably improved in that component. Before this weekend, we knew we were losing four to five tenths on the straights. I don't know what the numbers are on this track, but I feel we have made a step forward. This may not be reflected in my result, but I hope to demonstrate it in the race."
