Lando Norris avoided a penalty and stayed on pole.

After the qualifying session for the Miami Grand Prix sprint, the stewards summoned Lando Norris for an inquiry, as he was driving too slowly on the track during the second session and did not meet the limit of 1:48.000 seconds set by the race director.

After considering all the circumstances, the stewards concluded that for most of the lap, Lando was driving at an acceptable speed, but before the 17th corner, he was unexpectedly overtaken by Nico Hülkenberg. As a result, Norris had to slow down to create the necessary gap before the car ahead at the start of his fast lap. The stewards deemed this a mitigating circumstance and ruled that Norris was not driving unreasonably slowly.

As a result, the McLaren driver avoided penalties and will start from pole position in the Saturday sprint.
