Sergio Perez: I enjoyed the battle on the track.

At the home stage in Miami, the best result for Cadillac was Sergio Perez's sixteenth place. The Mexican driver is pleased that he was able to compete with his rivals throughout the race.

His teammate Valtteri Bottas finished 18th and received a drive-through penalty in the pit lane for speeding in the pit lane during the race. The Finn explained the violation by saying that he did not press the speed limiter button on the steering wheel hard enough, and it did not activate.

Sergio Perez (16th): "Today we fought on the track. It was fun to compete with Fernando Alonso closer to the finish. Unfortunately, he passed me, but overall, it was a great battle, and I really enjoyed it. We maximized our performance today and learned a lot this weekend.

Now we need to get the cars back to the base, analyze everything, and determine which direction to move forward. But I feel that we are already close, and there are just a few steps left to make progress.

The qualifying was promising, as was the sprint. My mechanics did a great job with the pit stops, so we see glimpses of progress. Overall, everything is moving in the right direction."

Valtteri Bottas (18th): "A tough day for me. It feels like we managed to improve our speed on fresh tires, but the degradation is still too high.

The penalty of a drive-through in the pit lane didn't help either. The thing is, the speed limiter in the pit lane didn't activate after pressing the button, but the buttons on the steering wheel lack tactility – I essentially didn't press it hard enough.

This weekend was important for us as an American team, and we definitely made progress in some areas. The main takeaway is that we still need to work on our speed, and we will all tackle this issue together."
