Gasly: Driving the Renault RS10 brings special emotions!

      Last weekend, Pierre Gasly participated in the Historic Grand Prix of France and yesterday drove the Renault RS10 with the EF1 V6 turbo engine with a volume of 1.5 liters. This car was created by the factory team of the French manufacturer for the 1979 championship. In that season, René Arnoux and Jean-Pierre Jabouille raced such cars, with Jabouille winning the Grand Prix of France held in Dijon.

      The Alpine F1 driver really enjoyed this experience, which he shared on Canal+, covering the events at the Paul Ricard circuit:

      “To be honest, I immediately want to continue! This car is associated with so many historical events, and now I had the chance to drive it. The sensations behind the wheel are very different from those you experience in modern Formula 1 cars; they are much more ‘real’, as you truly feel this car with a manual gearbox, and there are no buttons on the steering wheel.

      You have to focus solely on driving, which provides unique emotions; it’s really a completely special feeling!

      Moreover, we take turns driving with Victor, the son of Jean-Pierre Jabouille. I was well acquainted with his father (who passed away in February 2023), and now I have the opportunity to drive this car, in which he won the Grand Prix of France…”
