Zhou will participate in tire tests in Barcelona.
In this season, Guanyu Zhou continues his career in Formula 1 as a reserve driver for the new Cadillac team. The Chinese driver has not yet driven the team's car on a real track, but next month this gap will be filled.
The Cadillac team will participate in Pirelli tire tests, which will take place in Barcelona next week after the Barcelona-Catalonia Grand Prix. According to the head of the American team, Graham Loudon, Zhou will indeed get behind the wheel during these tests.
"I know that Zhou will be happy to get behind the wheel and just evaluate the new car," Loudon said. "He spends a lot of time working on the simulator and, of course, attends all the Grands Prix. I think he will enjoy it. It will be a good opportunity for us to assess him during the tests, and I am sure he will handle it well.
I have seen Zhou's entire career in Formula 1, and I have no doubts about putting him behind the wheel if something happens to one of our main drivers. But, of course, we hope that we won't have to do that."
