Ford supports the course for adjusting the regulations.

Last Friday, the FIA announced plans for further adjustments to the regulations, which are set to be implemented in 2027, and we reported on this. In particular, it has been decided to move away from the 50/50 power ratio generated by the internal combustion engine and electric systems, making this proportion closer to 60/40.

Mark Rushbrook, head of Ford Performance Motorsport, the racing division of the American corporation, supports this course, believing that development is heading in the right direction. Ford is a technology partner of Red Bull, and in Milton Keynes, the engine manufacturing division Red Bull Ford Powertrains produces power units for two Formula 1 teams.

"Stakeholders express their opinions, and the people responsible for decision-making make those decisions. But I think this is the right step that will benefit racing and everything that happens on the track," Rushbrook said in an interview with The Athletic.

The start of the season for Red Bull Racing has been challenging, with Max Verstappen not managing to rise above fifth place so far, but Rushbrook emphasized that the collaboration with Red Bull in the joint project is long-term and aimed at success:

"Everyone wants this – for us to be able to win races and championships. To achieve this, a huge amount of work lies ahead, and we understand that. That's also why we are collaborating with Red Bull, as they are true racers, and they strive for victories.

Last year, they proved this by overcoming a significant deficit, and in the end, Max was just two points short of winning the championship. We know we have reliable partners and are ready to use all our resources to support this program."
