Reconstruction has begun on the highway in Mexico City.

The organizers of the Mexico Grand Prix announced the start of the reconstruction of the Rodríguez Brothers racetrack. The work is being carried out as part of a planned modernization, with 202 million pesos (11.7 million USD) allocated for the project.

As part of the reconstruction project, the configuration of the track will remain the same, but the top layer of the surface will be replaced. The track will be repaved with a layer thickness of 6.5 cm. Specialists will also improve the drainage system to ensure that water effectively drains from the racing surface during rain, and will update the curbs around the entire circuit.

In addition, the project includes the repair and modernization of the pit complex, as well as the replacement of asphalt in the paddock.

Reconstruction at the track began on Monday, May 11. The work will be carried out in phases, taking into account the schedule of events at the racetrack and stadium. The reconstruction is planned to be completed by the Mexico Grand Prix, which will take place from October 30 to November 1.
