The Alpine team will strengthen its technical staff by signing a contract with Jason Somerville, who has held the position of head of aerodynamics at the FIA for the past four years.
Today is Somerville's last working day at the FIA, and in connection with this, he posted the following message on social media: "Today is my last day at the FIA. A huge thank you to my colleagues, technical partners, as well as representatives of FOM and Formula 1 teams for these incredibly interesting, eventful, and challenging four years. A new chapter begins tomorrow."
According to Racingnews365, by "new chapter," Jason Somerville means the contract with Alpine. An official statement from the team is expected soon, possibly this week.
Before working at the FIA, Somerville worked at FOM, where he moved from Williams in 2017. At the Grove team, he led the aerodynamics department for six years.
