Mike Crack: There's no point in running around like beaten dogs.
Aston Martin does not hide that they do not plan to bring serious updates to the car until the summer break. This means that the results of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will not change in the next two months. In Montreal, the team's racing director Mike Krack stated that this is not a reason to fall into despair and give up.
Mike Krack: "There is no point in getting upset and walking around with long faces. We have work to do on the track, and we must get the most out of the car we currently have at our disposal.
The situation is what it is – we need to acknowledge it and work with what we have. There is no point in running around like beaten dogs, as it won't change anything anyway. It is much more important to maintain high motivation. Additionally, it is important not to lose the working rhythm – to continue racing, give our all, and remain professionals. I must note that in this regard, all the guys in the team deserve credit.
Due to the final results, it may not be very noticeable, but for example, in Miami, the team performed very well throughout the weekend, especially in terms of tire management, cooling, and other challenging aspects. There are positive things; it's just that against the backdrop of such results, few people notice them."
Mike Krack added that the team is trying to shield the drivers from excessive pressure: "Right now, we need to protect our drivers the most because they have to answer the same questions every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And then it all repeats again at the next event.
It is especially hard for them to constantly hear the same thing and give the same answers each time. I mentioned in Shanghai that we need to shield the drivers from this pressure because they accumulate frustration from the fact that the team is at the back of the pack.
We are now facing a very busy stretch of races in the European part of the season, and we just need to hold on. This morning we had a meeting with the team, and everyone is in a good mood because we are objectively assessing the situation, understanding where we are, and discussing it openly.
The mood within the team remains very combative, but it is the drivers who have it the hardest because they are always under close scrutiny."
