Stellantis is making significant moves because it aims to stay competitive. This is evident on a global scale, and the U.S. market won't be neglected.

On Thursday, Stellantis announced plans to increase its market presence in the U.S. by 50% by 2030 through the introduction of 11 new vehicles that will offer a 35% increase in volume. Notably, nine of these new models will be priced below $40,000, with two of them costing under $30,000.

Details are limited, but this initiative is part of the automaker's more than $41 billion investment in the region over the next five years.

This effort aligns with Stellantis’ global turnaround strategy known as FaSTLAne 2030.

Dodge CEO Matt McLear has expressed multiple times to The Drive that he sees an "opportunity" for a basic sports car priced under $30,000. Whether this vision will materialize as part of the new product lineup remains uncertain. At present, Dodge dealers are heavily reliant on Durango sales.

In April, McLear asked The Drive, “do you need a radio?” This rhetorical question was aimed at exploring the concept of a no-frills entry-level car. Will this be what is necessary to sell a sub-$30,000 vehicle in 2026? We will soon find out.

On Wednesday, Ram revealed the return of the Rumble Bee, which includes a four-truck lineup featuring a top-tier Hellcat-powered SRT model.

The future of Chrysler’s offerings, now classified as a regional brand by Stellantis, remains unclear, as the brand currently only has the Pacifica.

Dodge is also now categorized as a regional brand, joining Jeep and Ram alongside Peugeot and Fiat as Stellantis’ four global brands.
