Lewis Hamilton: Such a result is encouraging
Lewis Hamilton finished second in Canada, which was his best result racing for Ferrari. After the finish, the seven-time world champion did not hide his joy and said that such a result is encouraging. Charles Leclerc did not contend for the podium and finished fourth. Lewis Hamilton (2nd): "First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to my team. Thank you, guys! The last year and a bit has been quite challenging, so it's great to finally find a sweet spot and have a strong weekend. It's just amazing to be back on the podium, especially considering that the competitors are fast. But I fought with Max, and that was great. I'm very happy, I love this track and the amazing fans. I can't wait to come back here next time. This result of the weekend is definitely encouraging, considering that Mercedes brought big updates, and other teams also brought new things. We introduced updates in Miami and continue to work at the base on the next ones. In Canada, the street circuit has long straights, but we managed to stay in the fight and achieve a result. This gives me hope for the future, but we must keep working and try to get more out of the car." Charles Leclerc (4th): "I have no one to blame for this result but myself. It was a nightmare weekend for me with ongoing problems. From the first practice, the issues did not change, and unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution, which is not good. Confidence in the car is everything on this track, as is the need for the tires to work in the optimal range. Today in the race, which lasted many laps, things could have gone much better, but I couldn't get the tires into the working range. I had no confidence in the car at all. But Lewis showed what our car is capable of, so great job. I don't think we could have achieved more, so second place is the best result for the team. I couldn't extract 100% from the car this weekend, but Lewis did an incredible job."
