Liam Lawson: It wasn't the easiest race.

As a result of the Canadian Grand Prix, Liam Lawson finished in seventh place, matching his best result of the season, while Arvid Lindblad, his teammate at Racing Bulls, was unfortunate – he was unable to start at all due to an unexpectedly arising issue with the car.

Liam Lawson (7th): “After a difficult start to the weekend, finishing in 7th place is definitely a good result, and I’m glad to earn points for our team. Overall, it was not the easiest race. We were able to move forward from the position we started in, but we had issues with the car's balance, and we lacked pace throughout the race. The hardest part was maintaining the correct tire temperature, which we could only achieve during the laps when we were driving at maximum speed. The Alpine drivers were faster than us today, and Pierre Gasly gave me quite a few challenges towards the end of the race when I was on soft tires, so I’m glad I was able to defend my position. It’s good that in a couple of weeks we’ll be back to work on the track, as we have the race in Monaco ahead, and we are already starting to prepare for the European stage of the season.”

Arvid Lindblad (did not start): “At the start of the formation lap, I had issues with traction, which prevented me from participating in the race. Of course, I’m disappointed, as I really wanted to compete on the Canadian track in changing weather conditions. It’s a shame it turned out this way, as up until that moment, the weekend was going quite well. The team performed flawlessly throughout the weekend, and the technical updates prepared for the Canadian stage worked excellently, so it’s unfortunate that we couldn’t show the result we deserved. Still, there were many positives, and this experience will be useful for us in preparing for the next race. I’m already looking forward to getting back behind the wheel in Monaco, as it will be my very first race on this track.”
