Alonso: During the race, there was a problem with the seat.
The Canadian Grand Prix is a home race for Lance Stroll, but he couldn't rise above 15th place. Still, he at least managed to finish, while Fernando Alonso, his teammate at Aston Martin, retired on lap 24.

Unfortunately, during the race, we had a problem with the seat, and we decided to retire. It seems that on this track we were faster than in Miami, even though the car hasn't changed. We will have to wait for the technical updates that will allow us to increase the car's speed, which will happen closer to the summer break. But until then, we will continue to optimize what we currently have.

Mike Krack, Racing Director: "We had a decent start, both drivers gained positions in the early laps. But it was hard to hold them, especially as the likelihood of rain decreased. For Fernando, the race ended early due to a seat issue – he was becoming uncomfortable in the cockpit, so we decided to retire on lap 24. Lance raced, pitting twice, and finished 15th ahead of Valtteri Bottas. Unfortunately, we are not capable of higher speeds at the moment, and that is our real position..."
