Valtteri Bottas: The day turned out to be long and difficult.

Only one Cadillac driver reached the finish of the Canadian Grand Prix – Valtteri Bottas finished last, four laps behind the winner. Sergio Perez retired due to a failure of the front right suspension arm.

Valtteri Bottas (16th): “It was a long and difficult day. I had issues with balance – throughout the race, I couldn’t manage the oversteer. That was the main problem, so we need to figure out the reasons.

As for the results, progress isn’t always visible, but it’s not just about the car’s pace – we continue to improve in all aspects. The team is moving forward step by step, and we always knew it would take time. The next race is in two weeks, and I hope we can take the next step forward.”

Sergio Perez (retirement): “Everything was going well! Of course, we made a mistake deciding to start on intermediate tires, but the decision was 50/50. But we managed to recover and get back into the fight. I was battling with Esteban Ocon, overtook a Haas, and was showing good pace. Then, unfortunately, the suspension broke, and I had to retire.

This weekend, we made a big step forward in the right direction, and it was our most competitive race since the start of the season, so there were many positive moments. Now we need to tidy up our operational work to capitalize on the progress we’ve made.”
