Antonelli congratulated Marco Bezzecchi on his victory in Mugello.
Yesterday at a solemn ceremony in Brisighella, Kimi Antonelli was awarded the Lorenzo Bandini Prize, and today the Mercedes driver attended the MotoGP race held in Mugello. Moreover, he also had a special mission there – waving the checkered flag at the finish of the Italian Grand Prix, which was won by Italian Marco Bezzecchi, competing for the Italian team Aprilia Racing. The boundless joy of the Italian fans is understandable, as their compatriots are leading in two of the most famous world championships – Formula 1 and MotoGP. This is the first time such a thing has happened in both Antonelli's and Bezzecchi's careers.
Of course, Kimi was one of the first to congratulate Marco on his victory – by the way, already his fourth this season. It can also be considered a significant coincidence that Antonelli also has four victories to his name. Enthusiastically embracing his friend, one of the main contenders for the title, Kimi said a phrase that can be translated as: "You scare me, make me nervous!" Even Antonelli, whose skills the motorsport world is starting to get used to, was impressed by the daring displayed by Bezzecchi on the powerful Aprilia RS-GP26 motorcycle. "Italy is undoubtedly experiencing a wonderful moment right now!" Kimi shared his impressions. "Of course, now our goal is to continue in the same vein. We will do everything we can, and today I am very happy to be in Mugello on such a significant day. Marco and I communicate every weekend, support each other, energize each other, but we can also say we push each other, setting ourselves up to achieve ever higher results on the track. And that's really great! Because when your friend-racer achieves success, you also want to perform at that level or even better!" Apparently, this can be considered a promise that in three months and one week in Monza, Antonelli will give his all in the pursuit of winning the Italian Grand Prix – however, September 6 is still a long way off.
