Fornaroli: I have already gotten along well with the team.

This week, Leonardo Fornaroli, a participant in the McLaren youth program and reserve driver for the British team, spent two days testing at the Texas racetrack Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The last year's Formula 2 champion drove the MCL60, a 2023 model, as part of the TPC (Testing of a Previous Car). This was his first experience on an American track, and he completed 77 laps over two days, covering a total of 425 km. All of this took place last Wednesday and Thursday, and the main goal for the Italian driver was to consolidate the skills he acquired during his previous TPC tests in Barcelona and Silverstone. Leonardo Fornaroli: "Driving a Formula 1 car is always great, and I am grateful to McLaren for giving me the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the MCL60 again. I am becoming more comfortable in the cockpit, and I have already built a good rapport with the team. The work plan in Austin was more complex than during the previous tests in Silverstone. We practiced the start procedure, and I am starting to better understand what is required to drive an F1 car in such sessions. This was my first time driving on the COTA track, and I really liked it, and I am already looking forward to the next opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car. In the coming days, I will be supporting the team by working on the simulator during the Monaco Grand Prix."
