McLaren will continue testing the new rear wing in Monaco.

Andrea Stella, the team principal of McLaren, confirmed that testing of the new front wing, which was first trialed in Canada, will continue during the race weekend in Monaco. In Montreal, the wing was tested during practice on Friday, but the team soon replaced it with a proven previous version, although Oscar Piastri felt quite comfortable driving with the new one. Lando Norris was less satisfied with the car's behavior with the upgraded wing, but work with it will continue in Monaco. "We knew that from an aerodynamic point of view, this wing has some peculiarities," Stella told RacingNews365. "We tested it and want to repeat a number of experiments to gather more information. For a track like Canada, the wing should have been suitable, although it wouldn't have had any significant impact on the car's performance. We just want to be sure that we fully understand the changes we are making to the car's configuration. Although in the past the team has successfully implemented innovations, what was prepared for a certain stage of the season was not always used at that stage. Sometimes we could only test something as an experiment to better understand the correlation between the track conditions and the calculations made during the car's upgrade using all the tools available to us at the team's base. So in Monaco, we will definitely see this wing on our cars again."
