Isaac Hajar: The incident caught me off guard.

Isaac Hajar crashed the car in the first practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver said he was surprised by his own crash and added that he had to start over in the second practice session.

Max Verstappen confidently completed both practice sessions and showed the third fastest time in the second, trailing less than two-tenths behind leader Lewis Hamilton.

Max Verstappen (3rd): "Honestly, the day turned out to be quite positive. I feel comfortable in the car, which is especially important in Monaco. But we still need to work on fine-tuning the settings.

The Ferrari drivers look very fast, but we'll try to get closer to them tomorrow. We're happy with our form at the moment, but as usual, we'll try to get more out of the car. Let's see what kind of result we can show in qualifying."

Isaac Hajar (6th): "Everything was going quite well. I was actually putting in good laps, and I was gradually gaining confidence, and when I finally had it, that incident happened. It caught me off guard because I didn't expect to lose control of the car at all.

You don't often see crashes after a driver loses control of the rear of the car like that, so I was surprised. Definitely an unpleasant incident.

In the second practice session, I tried to regain my confidence. I didn't take any risks at all, just experimented a bit, but it took me time to feel the car again. Towards the end of the session, I felt pretty good, so let's see what we can do tomorrow.

I definitely expect to fight with Mercedes this weekend. The top three are very strong right now, so I need to have a very confident third practice session to close the gap. I hope to work productively in practice and come into qualifying in good shape."
