Sergio Perez: We are closing the gap to our rivals.

Sergio Perez prematurely ended his work in the second practice of the Monaco Grand Prix after the front right brakes on his car caught fire. However, up to that point, the Mexican driver managed to complete 31 laps and set the 18th fastest time.

Valtteri Bottas finished the practice with the 21st result and complained about difficulties in finding the optimal setup.

Sergio Perez (18th): "Unfortunately, the second practice ended the way it did, but it was important to find the limits and spend as much time on the track as possible before the race on Sunday. The team had a strong Friday, and we were close to our rivals. A few more tenths could radically change our positions, so I hope we find them when it matters. We are closing the gap to our competitors, but the result of tomorrow's qualifying will still depend on the performance of others. However, anything can happen on this track, so it's important to seize opportunities and get the most out of the car."

Valtteri Bottas (21st): "A tough day. I had issues with the car setup, but practice is needed for this work. We still need to find the right balance for cornering. Additionally, there were some minor difficulties with handling the car, but we have all night to find a solution. We will send the collected data to the simulator, and everyone will work to find a solution by Saturday. Despite a tough day, it's still great to be back on the streets of Monaco."
