Jimenez makes a comeback as Alonso alleviates tensions at DAZN.

"I would say there’s no possibility of earning points"

Fernando Alonso seems to have resolved his media standoff with Spanish broadcaster DAZN following the return of his partner Melissa Jimenez from maternity leave. The Aston Martin driver had reportedly ceased giving interviews to the network after an on-air mistake concerning the name of their newborn son, Leonard.

Spanish outlet Diario Sport notes that issues arose when a member of the DAZN team incorrectly announced the baby's name, causing frustration within Alonso's close circle. This incident sparked rumors of a rift between Alonso and the broadcaster.

Sources cited by the publication indicate that Alonso made it clear he would only resume communication with DAZN once Jimenez was back in her reporting role. This week, the journalist returned to the network just in time for the Monaco Grand Prix after several months of maternity leave.

Jimenez, who shares son Leonard with Alonso, returned to work at one of the most prominent events on the calendar, which takes place in the city where the couple resides. The timing coincides with Aston Martin debuting a special Monaco livery, although Alonso remains realistic about the team's performance on track.

The 44-year-old Spaniard does not anticipate the Silverstone-based team contending for points this weekend, despite the distinctive characteristics of the Monte Carlo circuit. "Considering the first few races, I’d say there’s no chance of scoring points," Alonso remarked. "I believe the top 10 cars and the top five teams are significantly ahead of the rest."
