The Shark BlastBoss is a distinctive air-blowing sweeping device that functions as either a powerful broom or a compact air duster. While it's primarily designed for household and kitchen use, I found it handy for my workshop and car detailing tasks as well. After a few weeks of using it around my home, I discovered I relied on it more than anticipated. Here’s our overview of the BlastBoss.

Best Applications
This tool is marketed primarily for cleaning tasks typically done with a broom or dustpan—like removing crumbs from a keyboard or dirt from your doorstep. It’s effective when you want to blast debris off rather than vacuuming it up.
For car detailing, it excels at blowing dust off screens and delicate dashboard components before you go over them with a microfiber cloth. While the stream of air is too narrow for drying an entire car, it’s ideal for areas like side mirrors, door handles, and trim pieces where water tends to collect after washing. This helps avoid those annoying single streaks that can appear on paint post-wash.
Taking effective photos of an air blower in action was harder than I anticipated … but you get the idea. Andrew P. Collins
It’s also beneficial in scenarios where you need a gentler air source, such as cleaning sunroof drains.
The most surprising application I found for it was entirely unrelated to cars: My family’s dogs (for some reason, all of them) insist on creating little sleeping nests next to the drainage rocks beneath my deck, which causes them to scatter dirt onto my nice white rocks, leading to weed growth. Sweeping dirt off rocks is usually a tedious task, but the BlastBoss efficiently blows the dirt away without disturbing the rocks at all. It’s a strangely perfect tool for this specific issue—but you might find similar uses on your property.
The BlastBoss proved to be more useful around the property than in the garage. It’s an excellent cleaner for patios and parking areas after mowing the lawn. Plus, my dog doesn’t mind it at all, unlike the vacuum, which she detests. Andrew P. Collins
I also discovered it to be remarkably effective for lawn mower maintenance. I own an electric zero-turn mower and clean the deck after every mow. The BlastBoss delivers just the right amount of air power without risking damage to the electric motors. Afterwards, I can move the mower, attach the broom nozzle, and blow grass clumps off the driveway. Again, quite specific, yet very handy.
What it’s not suitable for: Cleaning tight crevices in a car's interior—use a vacuum crevice nozzle for that. Sweeping large open floors is cumbersome with the small broom attachment. Drying an entire car would take ages.
High Points
Although a three-hour charge time leading to a seven-minute runtime sounds unfavorable, I never experienced battery depletion. You won’t be holding down the trigger for seven consecutive minutes—you’ll typically squeeze it for 5 to 15 seconds at a time. Even at maximum power, the battery life exceeded my expectations.
The design and ergonomics feel premium. The BlastBoss is comfortable to hold, well-constructed, the materials feel high-quality, the switch is satisfying, and the trigger provides great precision.
Nozzles attach and detach securely and easily.
The device strikes a nice balance of being both durable yet lightweight.
Surprisingly quiet.
Weak Points
The built-in lithium-ion battery isn’t replaceable; once it’s spent, the device goes to waste.
It’s pricey—more affordable alternatives exist if you’re willing to trade some style.
Blower power is adequate for household crumbs and dust but struggles with garage debris.
The lower end of the air-power range is only useful
