Bottas: For the first time this season, I am satisfied with the car's behavior.

On Friday in Barcelona, Colton Herta made his Formula 1 debut during the race weekend. In the first practice session, the American Cadillac driver replaced Sergio Perez. Valtteri Bottas completed both sessions, but lost a lot of time in the second due to engine control unit issues.

Valtteri Bottas (18th): "For the first time this season, I am really satisfied with the car's behavior. It has become more predictable, and we finally managed to find settings that work for me. We are achieving our goals, and it shows in the lap times.

In the second practice, I wasn't able to complete many laps due to engine control unit problems. We had to reprogram the system, so in the end, I couldn't do a long run. We still need to figure out what exactly caused this issue, but otherwise, the day was positive."

Sergio Perez (20th): "In the morning during the first practice, Colton took the wheel, and he did a good job. He managed to gather useful information that will help the team throughout the remaining sessions of the weekend.

When I got behind the wheel in the second session, I didn't feel comfortable right away, as the balance left much to be desired. On a track where a lot depends on speed on a fast lap, this is far from an ideal situation.

We still have work to do to close the gap to our competitors. The team plans to make some significant changes to the car's setup, and I hope that this will make the car more competitive on Saturday."

Colton Herta (21st in the first session): "A lot happened for me today for the first time. There wasn't much time to get settled, but I really enjoyed it.

The car impressed me a lot, and after just a few laps, I felt confident behind the wheel, so overall, it went very positively.

This was my first experience working with the Cadillac team as a driver and the first time I wore their suit. Considering where it all started, the progress the team has already made is truly impressive. I am confident that it will only get better from here.

Today we managed to fully complete the planned program, so I am looking forward to the next opportunity to get behind the wheel and continue to improve. A huge thank you to the team for this opportunity."
