Valtteri Bottas: We increased the gap from Aston Martin.

Despite finishing 19th and 20th in the qualifying session for the Barcelona-Catalonia Grand Prix, Cadillac is satisfied with the session's results. The team noted that they were able to realize the car's potential and pull away from direct competitors Aston Martin.

Sergio Perez (19th): "From the very beginning of the weekend, we focused on preparing for the race, so the qualifying session initially involved certain compromises. Nevertheless, today we managed to realize our potential and achieve a result that was slightly better than expected, which is encouraging.

In the race on this track, strategy and tire management will play a key role. We have done a lot of work to come into the race as prepared as possible. The team has done everything possible in terms of preparation, and now it’s important to take any opportunity, avoid mistakes, and get the most out of the car."

Valtteri Bottas (20th): "Considering how my third practice went, the qualifying session can be considered positive. The team managed to figure out the issue that arose and resolve it.

Due to the damage the car sustained in practice, I had to revert to some old spare parts. Given the circumstances, I think we got the most out of the available options. I want to specifically highlight the work of all the team members – the mechanics did an excellent job and managed to prepare the car for qualifying on time.

It seems we are now closer to Williams than before and have pulled away a bit from Aston Martin, although we still need to improve in many areas.

Sunday's race will largely depend on how effectively we can manage tire degradation and overheating. Most will likely make at least two pit stops, which could create additional opportunities for us."
