Lawson: There was potential to reach the final with two cars.
In Barcelona, Liam Lawson reached the qualifying final for the second consecutive time and the third time this season. The New Zealand Racing Bulls driver is pleased with the result and hopes to earn a lot of points in the race.
His teammate Arvid Lindblad was close to making it to the final, but he fell short by less than a tenth of a second to overtake Nico Hülkenberg in the battle for tenth place.
Liam Lawson (8th): "I'm quite satisfied with today. We had a strong qualifying session, and I managed to put together a lap when it was particularly important.
It's a shame that Arvid couldn't go further because we had the potential for both cars to make it to the final. Nevertheless, there was a lot of positivity today.
Our pace turned out to be a bit better than we expected, which is encouraging. Now it's important to maintain speed and keep moving forward before tomorrow's race.
We have a good opportunity to earn points, but the race will definitely not be easy. This track puts serious strain on the tires, leading to high degradation, so tire management and making the right decisions during the race will be crucial.
We will focus on our work, try to do everything right, and see what result we can achieve."
Arvid Lindblad (11th): "I'm a bit disappointed with today's results, as the end of the second part of qualifying didn't go well for me. In my last attempt, I had to abort my fast lap due to a lack of power before the first corner. However, by that point, I was already about two seconds behind, so there was nothing I could do.
Nevertheless, the car was fast throughout the weekend and looked good in all sessions, so I want to thank the team for their great work.
As for tomorrow's race, we are likely looking at at least two pit stops due to high tire degradation. There are definitely opportunities to fight for points, and there will be many chances during the race. It's important to take advantage of them and get the most out of the car."
