Pierre Gasly: We just have no luck on this track.
At Alpine, they hoped to reach the final qualifying in Barcelona, but ultimately fell short…
Franco Colapinto (13th): “Another tough day, and once again not the result we were hoping for. Compared to Friday, we improved, but it’s not the big step we expected from Friday to Saturday.
I don’t feel comfortable in the car; it’s very slippery, behaves unpredictably, and it’s not easy to drive, especially when I need to attack. It’s not that we’re not trying – we’re doing everything we can, but the situation hasn’t really improved. We hoped to fight closer to the top ten this weekend, but we are far from that. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.”
Pierre Gasly (14th): “A tough day. For some reason, we just can’t catch a break on this track. I’m sure we could have shown a better result, but reaching the final qualifying this time was out of reach. We’re trying to figure out why I didn’t feel comfortable throughout the weekend. I can’t attack on braking; the car lacks stability – we tried several things, even changed the chassis, but we still haven’t found the right answers.
We’re likely facing serious tire wear on Sunday, so the race won’t be easy. Let’s see what we can make of it in the end. I’ll try to gain a few places.”
