Lando Norris: We are satisfied, but not entirely.

On Saturday in Barcelona, Lando Norris showed the 4th fastest time in qualifying and is generally satisfied with this result, which cannot be said for his teammate, who could not rise above 7th position.

Lando Norris (4th): "We are getting back to the form we demonstrated in Montreal, where we showed the 3rd result in qualifying. I think we are making progress. It seems that the small technical updates we introduced in Barcelona are helping us a bit, and here even fractions of a second affect the result.

I believe we managed to take a step forward, and in this regard, we are satisfied, although it cannot be said that the car behaved wonderfully. But the team accepts this result – it’s encouraging that we were able to recover after a disappointing weekend in Monaco. Still, we lost to the pole sitter by three to three and a half tenths, which is a lot. Overall, we are satisfied, but not entirely.

There is no confidence that we can compete with the leaders, as it is important to achieve good grip on this track, primarily the rear wheels must hold the track confidently, and today we lacked that."

Oscar Piastri (7th): "To be honest, I am somewhat surprised by how much time I lost in the last sector. I need to analyze everything and understand exactly where, as before the start of this sector, the lap was going quite well, and in the end, I drove it not much faster than the previous one. And that surprised me.

However, it is clear that the results are very tight, and we lack the pace to catch up with Mercedes. I believe even Ferrari looks quite good today, and I think that will help them in tomorrow's race. But let's see what we can do.

Certainly, it is important to conserve tires on this track, and there is no doubt that we will have at least two pit stops tomorrow. Let's hope we can apply a successful strategy, and that will help us move forward a bit."
