Mercedes withdrew its request to review the stewards' decision.

Mercedes withdrew its request to review the stewards' decision.

After the Alpine team successfully overturned two penalties for Pierre Gasly for speeding in the pit lane during the Monaco race, the Mercedes team exercised its right to appeal the decision and submitted a corresponding request to the FIA.

The FIA was to consider Mercedes' request on Saturday morning via videoconference. At the hearings, representatives from Mercedes were to provide new substantial and important information that was not available to the stewards at the time of the decision, and if they had provided it, the consideration of Mercedes' request would have begun.

However, on Thursday evening, Mercedes withdrew its request, and the FIA confirmed the closure of the case.

"The stewards were informed by the Mercedes team that they are withdrawing their request for a review of the stewards' decisions in the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix regarding the violation of Article B1.6.3a of the Formula 1 Sporting Regulations concerning car number 63," the FIA said in a brief statement.

However, the withdrawal of the request by Mercedes does not yet mean a final confirmation of the results of the Monaco Grand Prix and the retention of third place for Pierre Gasly, as McLaren and Red Bull Racing intend to take the matter to the FIA International Court of Appeal.
