Steiner: Lewis silenced the doubters

Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner continues to closely follow the events in Formula 1. In the latest episode of the Red Flags podcast, Steiner commented on Lewis Hamilton's victory in Barcelona and stated that the seven-time world champion has silenced those who began to doubt his ability to compete for wins this season.

Guenther Steiner: "Ferrari got absolutely everything right this weekend. I wouldn't say they were in some other reality, but when you win, it usually feels like everything was perfect. In this case, it was. The team made no mistakes, and the car was very fast.

They returned to a track they know well, and the updates clearly worked because the car became quicker. The only area where Ferrari wasn't the best was qualifying.

Perhaps Mercedes didn't look as strong in the race as we expected. They were very good in qualifying, but on Sunday, they didn't execute everything perfectly. And as soon as Mercedes made mistakes, the Ferrari drivers were close enough to take advantage of it.

It's clear that Lewis is enjoying what's happening right now because he hasn't won in a long time. That's exactly what he wanted. And now he has silenced all the doubters, including people like you and me."
