In August of this year, Zandvoort will host the Dutch Grand Prix for the last time, but that doesn't mean the Dutch racetrack will be without international-level races. Today, a preliminary version of the Formula E calendar for the next season has been presented, and for the first time, a double-header event is scheduled in Zandvoort on June 18-19, 2027. Negotiations for this began back in 2025, continued in the first half of 2026, and now all necessary agreements have been reached. In this context, it makes perfect sense that Bernhard of Orange-Nassau, Prince of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and one of the main co-owners of the Zandvoort racetrack, visited the event in Monaco in May at the personal invitation of Jeff Dodds, the executive director of Formula E. "I have known Bernhard for a long time and know him well," Dodds shared in an interview with RacingNews365. "I am also familiar with the entire team of promoters from Zandvoort and I think we share a passionate enthusiasm for motorsport. It is no coincidence that the Formula 1 race held there is recognized as a leader in the environmental sustainability ranking. And now they are fully focused on our project, which has a style different from Formula 1. During our negotiations, we found out very early on that we have a lot in common, and working with these people is a pleasure."
