Ayumu Iwasa will hold his first training session in Spielberg.
Ayumu Iwasa will participate in the first session of free practice at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Japanese driver will get behind the wheel of one of the Racing Bulls cars. The press service of the team from Faenza did not specify which of the main drivers Iwasa will replace, but it should be Liam Lawson. Each team is required to provide a car to a driver with less than two starts in the Grand Prix four times during the season. At the same time, each of the main drivers must give up their seat twice. In the case of debutant Arvid Lindblad, this rule does not apply, as he was formally the driver who was given a seat in the first two practice sessions. "I have another opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car ahead of me," Ayumu Iwasa wrote on social media. "I look forward to getting the VCARB03 on the track during the Austrian Grand Prix." This year, Iwasa participated in the first practice at the last round in Barcelona, replacing Isaac Hadjar for one hour in the Red Bull Racing team.
