Ferrari clients anticipate the debut of the ADUO engine in Austria.

Ferrari's customer teams have postponed the introduction of the Scuderia's upgraded power unit, despite regulations mandating that manufacturers provide new specifications to their customers. The first stage of Ferrari's ADUO engine upgrade was launched at the Austrian GP, with the aim of narrowing the gap to championship leader Mercedes. However, neither Haas nor Cadillac has installed the revised engine. When asked about this, Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu was initially hesitant to address the matter. "That's a question for Ferrari," he replied with a smile. Upon further inquiry, he clarified: "We won’t be utilizing the upgrade here. We've not yet determined when it will be introduced. The new configuration is not obligatory, either." Komatsu confirmed that Ferrari has adhered to the regulations. "Our partner is following the rules," the Japanese official asserted. According to Auto Motor und Sport, the updated engines have been provided to Ferrari's customer teams, but due to the acceleration of development following the FIA's approval of Ferrari's ADUO package after Monaco, spare parts are currently in very limited supply. Ferrari maintains that the engines are completely race-ready and compliant, but both Haas and Cadillac have chosen to avoid potential reliability issues or damage from accidents without sufficient replacement parts. The Maranello team anticipates that customer teams will begin using the upgrades once production aligns, possibly starting from the Belgian GP. Additionally, Ferrari has rolled out aerodynamic enhancements in Austria, which include a modified front wing endplate and alterations around the exhaust and side guide vanes. Some observers noted that Ferrari did not release any images of the rear of its car on Friday, amidst reports that the FIA plans to ban the innovative 'exhaust wing' that has attracted attention and imitation this season. These developments follow Lewis Hamilton’s significant victory for Ferrari in Barcelona, which reignited the team's championship ambitions. However, the running at the Red Bull Ring on Friday indicated that Mercedes continues to set the standard. Ferrari ambassador Marc Gene remarked: "In Turn 1, it's clearly visible how much better Antonelli's car handles compared to the Ferrari. By the way, Kimi is also evidently stronger than Russell in this area."
