Alex Albon: The car was not handling the corners well.

At the Austrian stage of the season, the Williams team performed poorly: only Alex Albon finished the race, and he only managed to secure second-to-last place. Carlos Sainz retired on the 23rd lap due to a power unit issue.

Alex Albon (17th): "Overall, it was a disappointing weekend; we simply lacked the pace to compete even with the mid-field teams. We had issues due to tire degradation, which meant the car struggled with medium-speed and fast corners, and as we prepare for the next race, we have a lot to analyze.

Currently, we are conducting various experiments, making every possible effort, trying to improve even before we receive the next technical updates. The next race is in Silverstone, where we will present a small package of updates – we hope this will help us close the gap to teams like Haas and Racing Bulls.

There is hope that when we receive these updates, we will start moving in the right direction."

Carlos Sainz (retirement): "In today's race, we were capable of a higher pace than in practice, but we still lagged quite a bit behind our immediate competitors.

We made several changes to the setup, which improved the handling, allowing us to even compete with cars we didn't expect to fight against, and that's a positive aspect.

However, unfortunately, a problem with the power unit arose, and the car just shut down. Speaking about the overall performance of the FW48, it's clear that we are not at the level we want to be, but the team is preparing a number of small updates for Silverstone. Let's hope they will allow us to fight for higher positions again."
