Williams is preparing "a practically new car" for Baku.
Team principal of Williams, James Vowles, spoke on Sky Germany about the car update schedule throughout the season…
James Vowles: “Unlike our competitors, we didn’t bring any updates to Austria, so we’ve fallen back a bit. This is one of the main reasons.
As for our update plans, we are preparing what I call a ‘medium update’ for Silverstone. Then there will be some minor improvements in Spa and Hungary, followed by more significant ones – in Zandvoort, the car will lose a lot of weight, and in Baku, we will bring almost a new car. We are all looking forward to this.
Our goal is to close the gap to the Racing Bulls and other teams in the midfield. This is quite achievable, considering the pace of our development. I don’t think many other teams will be able to achieve as significant progress as we expect after the summer break.”
