Honda plans to prepare a new engine for Zandvoort.

The chief engineer and head of the Honda Racing team, Shintaro Orihara, told reporters in Silverstone that the Japanese company is preparing a new engine for Aston Martin for the race in Zandvoort – the first after the summer break.

Shintaro Orihara: "Our goal is to prepare a new Honda power unit for the race in Zandvoort.

We have chosen the approach of one major update rather than many gradual improvements. I don't think we will catch up to the Mercedes or Red Bull engines with just this step, but in Zandvoort, we will make a significant leap. Then we will need to take another step to catch up with the main competitors."
