Horner prepared to return to the Silverstone paddock.
Christian Horner is poised to make his first appearance in the Formula 1 paddock following his departure from Red Bull at this weekend's British Grand Prix. Amid ongoing speculation about his potential move to Aston Martin, Germany's Bild reports that Horner has received an invitation from Formula 1 and the FIA to attend the Grand Prix at Silverstone as a guest.
"Formula 1 has been waiting for one individual for a year - Christian Horner," wrote journalist Michel Milewski. "According to information shared by Bild, the former Red Bull team principal and CEO has been invited to Silverstone by Formula 1 and the FIA."
Milewski noted that "final confirmation of his attendance is still awaited," but F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem are "believing it will take place."
Bild also stated, "The green light has been switched back on," implying that "Horner is free to engage fully again - and he’s doing just that." The report indicates that the paddock restrictions that came with Horner's departure from Red Bull ended in late May.
"Is Horner back? Yes and no," Milewski commented. "He was never truly absent. Even with the paddock ban, the Brit continued to maintain his connections."
Horner's future is still a topic of significant speculation, with recent reports linking him once more to Aston Martin, as well as mentioning Alpine, the Chinese manufacturer BYD, and a possible future twelfth Formula 1 team.
