Horner poised to return to the Silverstone paddock.

Christian Horner is expected to make his first appearance in the Formula 1 paddock since leaving Red Bull at this weekend's British Grand Prix. Amid renewed speculation about the former Red Bull team principal's ties to Aston Martin, Germany's Bild reports that Horner has received an invitation to Silverstone from Formula 1 and the FIA.

"Formula 1 has been anticipating one individual for a year - Christian Horner," wrote correspondent Michel Milewski. "According to information from Bild, the former Red Bull team principal and CEO has been invited by Formula 1 and the FIA to attend the Grand Prix at Silverstone as a guest."

Milewski noted that "final confirmation of his presence is still awaited," but F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem are "confident that it will take place." Bild stated, "The green light has turned back on. Horner is allowed to go full throttle again - and he’s doing just that."

The report indicates that Horner's paddock restriction, which was part of his Red Bull exit agreement, ended at the end of May. "Is Horner back? Yes and no," wrote Milewski. "He was never truly gone. Despite being barred from the paddock, the Briton kept up his connections."

Horner's future continues to generate significant speculation, with Aston Martin once again being mentioned recently, while other reports have linked him to Alpine, the Chinese manufacturer BYD, and the possibility of a new twelfth Formula 1 team.
