Max Verstappen: We didn't give up that much

Max Verstappen finished third in the Silverstone sprint qualifying. His teammate Isaac Hajar ended up only eighth...

Max Verstappen (3rd): "The results in the final were very tight. I could easily have ended up third, sixth, or seventh, but overall we performed quite well.

We didn't lose by much, but we still lost – a bit in the corners, a bit on the accelerations – we need to sort out some issues to improve lap time. We'll work on that after the sprint.

Hamilton and Antonelli are very fast here. And if they look fast, then their teammates will also be fast during the race when the situation stabilizes a bit after the start. I think tomorrow I'll mainly have to battle with the drivers starting behind me."

Isaac Hajar (8th): "The competition was very tight. I'm a bit disappointed to be the last of the drivers from the four strongest teams. It feels like I missed out on third place. I wasn't fast enough on the last lap and want to figure out why that happened.

I know I didn't start the lap very well, losing some time, but there are still a few things to analyze. I was just one-tenth away from third place; I was close to the goal, but that makes the situation even more frustrating.

Overall, I can be satisfied with today's performance. I'm in good shape. If I can refine some aspects, we'll achieve success."
