"The fact that a four-time world champion is interested in joining is pretty exciting."

The ongoing discussion about the Max Verstappen-to-McLaren situation continued to make waves at Silverstone on Thursday, with Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri sharing their thoughts on the latest rumors.

After various reports indicated that Verstappen's management had looked into a possible move to Woking, the four-time champion once again chose not to add fuel to the speculation. "I'm not going to discuss this," Verstappen told Dutch journalists at Silverstone. "I've previously stated what I wanted to say. If I have any new information or if anything changes, you'll hear it from me and not from someone else."

Instead, he highlighted Red Bull's significant improvements shown in Austria last weekend. "We're on the comeback trail, which is really encouraging to see," Verstappen remarked. "I had a very positive weekend in Austria. We're just aiming to keep improving from that point."

Norris, on the other hand, indicated that Verstappen isn't the only driver interested in joining McLaren. "Honestly, many drivers want to come to McLaren," the reigning champion noted. "I don't understand why you only focus on Max. There are several others that I know of who are interested too. It's exciting that a four-time world champion wants to potentially join the team. I'm not sure how much of it's true, but it's still exciting."

However, he emphasized his complete commitment to McLaren alongside Piastri. "It's not a serious matter," he added. "I'm excited about my future with McLaren. I'll be here for many more years. Oscar and I work very well together, and we're looking forward to continuing that partnership."

Norris also expressed confidence in competing against Verstappen in equal machinery. "I genuinely believe I can beat any driver," he stated. "What sets Max apart is his consistency throughout the season, performing at such a high level every weekend. I think whether it's him or going up against Lewis or Fernando, all of the best drivers, it's an exciting opportunity for me."

Piastri, whose own future has come into question if Verstappen were to join McLaren, seemed unfazed. "For me, it doesn't have much significance," the Australian said, who has been linked to a potential swap with Verstappen at Red Bull. "Max is the talent that he is, and I’m very content with where I am. I've been reassured multiple times that the team is pleased with my performance and I trust them. Plus, I have a contract, so nothing changes for me."
